We recorded our AS live programme Unsigned Live yesterday with The Soundcasters, Standing On Giants and The Charlie Rivers Band. There were some minor hiccups in the morning during rehearsal but everything was fixed for the afternoon when the audience arrived
As Assistant Floor Manager it was my job to make sure that the bands were looked after so I assigned two runners to become band runners and made sure that they knew what was going on so that the bands could be kept in the loop.
The day before the record I asked around to find-out if the bands were going to be supplied with food and drink and was told that water had already been bought for them. Except mid-morning of the record day I was informed that we were running out of water so I went to the local Tesco and bought more water and I even bought food for the bands - given that they were not getting paid to be there I decided that it would be a bit of a liberty to ask them to pay £5 for a decent lunch from our canteen when all it took to make them happy was me buying them cocktail sausages and sausage rolls at an extremely low price from the local supermarket.
